Deck/Hull
Eight (8) 1" SS stringers, running the length of the boat, were laid in the
hull. The toe rail rises 4" above the deck and serves as the fiber glassed
deck-hull joint with no possibility for leaks. At the time Magic was constructed,
knowledge of fiber glass use in boat hulls was limited and hulls were constructed
to a thickness equal to or greater than wooden hulls. As a result, the Creekmore
hull is solid fiber glass, hand laid with no core used. It is 1" thick at
deck level, 2" thick at the water line and several inches thick nearer the
keel. The cabin top is 1" thick. For its' beam and length, the Creekmore
is a heavy displacement boat at 14,000 lbs. The shoal draft, full keel with 7,000
